Four of our members represented Jedi Council in Adrian, MI today. Grand Master Big Bear was asked to help judge the costume competition - and as part of our prize, we gained a new member off the podium! As always, there was a lot of dueling from the fans. Looking forward to many more!
We had many representatives at the Great Lakes Comic Con in Warren, Michigan this weekend. It was amazing to meet so many new people, and we gained three new members! Sporadically throughout the day, members went outside for basic lightsaber training by Darth Tama. Looking forward to many more cons with many more friends.
Our friends at YourComicCon, the organizers of many Michigan comic cons, held their grand opening for their retail space in conjunction with 9 Planets, located in Asylum Collectibles in Dearborn Heights, MI.
Two of the Jedi Council of Michigan members attended to add some positive Force energy to the event. We look forward to many more appearances with YourComicCon! This was the first comicon that Jedi Council of Michigan appeared at in the West side of the state. We had a fantastic response from the fans, and lots of saber action! Looking forward to many more appearances, and spreading the love of Star Wars to future generations of Jedi. The Jedi Council of Michigan was joined by members of the Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois chapters at Phoenix Theatre in Monroe, MI for the premiere of Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. We raffled off a fully-functional lightsaber from Ultrasabers, an Initiate, a bust statue and an original piece of fan art by a local artist. We were present Thursday-Sunday, and the patrons of the theater loved it! The Michigan chapter gained over 75 new individuals on the Facebook group over the weekend. If you'd like to join us for future events, use the social media buttons on the bottom of the page or contact us. Jedi Council participated in the annual Monroe Bed Race to raise money for the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep campaign, which purchases beds for children in Monroe County that cannot afford them. It was HOT, but anything for charity!
